La carta della ruota della fortuna è molto importante sia nel sistema magico della Golden Dawn (è il decimo arcano maggiore) che nel quadro di Man Ray, assieme al biliardo, che include anche il triangolo, importante simbolo esoterico. La ruota della fortuna è associata all’astrologia e allo zodiaco, così come alla sfinge, che in alcune versioni presenta una testa di falco. Sexton era famoso per essere l’autore de “Il mistero del falco”. Maggiore fortuna è associata al fuoco, uno dei marchi di fabbrica del killer dello Zodiaco e pure al movimento dei pianeti, ai petali di rosa (simbolo dell’ordine della Rosa e del film “Quarto Potere” di William Randolph Hearst ed Orson Welles)e ai pentacoli esoterici. La quarta casa è sinonimo di buona fortuna e successo, quindi se risaliamo alla residenza più famosa di Hodel otteniamo la Franklin-Sowden House, sita al 5121 di Franklin Avenue a Los Angeles. Anche a Loleta c’è il civico 5121 di Franklin Avenue, quindi quasi certamente il cadavere di Barbara è stato occultato lì. In questa vicenda compare la bilancia, che è presente nella carta della giustizia (11° arcano maggiore nel mazzo RWS) e che rappresenta il segno zodiacale di Hodel, mentre quello zodiacale di Sexton era Gemelli, che ingloba anche la data del duplice delitto Kelley-Baird. Anche il matematico Carl-Friedrich Gauss si ispirò ad Archimede per sostenere che qualsiasi numero positivo poteva essere espresso come la somma di 3 numeri triangolari. Ad una prima analisi fatta dagli americani, le chiavi erano riconducibili ad un certo Sam.Se consideriamo Sam Shamshak (lo strangolatore vestito da Babbo Natale in “Buonanotte a tutti” e complice di Rodney Alcala, l’uomo che conservava gli effetti personali delle vittime in una cassetta di sicurezza a Seattle), si apre lo scenario degli strangolatori di Hillside che usavano le scariche elettriche, ma di recente è emerso uno sviluppo: l’intestatario è un certo Chester Clark Klingel, un ex militare nato a San Francisco e morto ad Eureka nel 2017. Non è chiaro il ruolo di Klingel in questa vicenda , probabilmente è entrato in contatto con Hodel tramite il Pentagono e doveva veicolare messaggi subliminali. Interessante comunque il fatto che Chester Carlson, l’inventore della xerografia/elettrofotografia, era nato a Seattle e ha passato 3 anni a Riverside. E’ probabile che Klingel si dovesse ricollegare a Gilbert Klingel, premiato dalla John Burroughs Association ed autore di un libro sulla Chesaspeake Bay, dov’è avvenuto lo strano incidente d’auto che ha portato alla morte di Mary Jo Kopechne e di cui ci siamo già occupati in precedenza. La cosa interessante delle chiavi(keys in inglese) è che potrebbero ricollegare al fattore FK, presente in alcune lettere di Zodiac. F potrebbe infatti essere l’iniziale di Franklin (lo confermerebbe un francobollo di Franklin Roosevelt) e K l’iniziale del cognome di Marion Herwood Keyes, una delle fidanzate di Hodel. In riferimento al duplice omicidio Kelley-Baird, è certo che la confessione di Gayle Patrick Irish è fasulla, in quanto il corpo di Barbara non è stato trovato nel campo di disboscamento a Crannell descritto da Irish. Irish significa irlandese e la croce celtica di Zodiac è un simbolo pagano irlandese. La falsa confessione potrebbe essere basata sul personaggio Gail Patrick Jackson, attrice e produttrice televisiva, in particolare di “Perry Mason”, serie che la mette in relazione con William Hopper, che aveva recitato ne “Il mistero del falco”.
