WHO KILLED CARMEN COLON?

A resident of the Bull's Head neighborhood of Rochester, the victim was then killed by the Alphabet Killer, after being strangled, stripped and raped. Suspicions center on Miguel Colon, the victim's uncle who had fled to Puerto Rico 4 days after the crime and who drove a Ford Pinto like the one seen by witnesses on the highway who witnessed the chase between the car and Carmen. Miguel washed his car suspiciously and didn't have an alibi, but he was never charged and died in 1991, committing suicide once he was hunted by the cops. Particolarmente importante per l’ispirazione di Zodiac Hodel nell’ambito dell’Operazione Odissea è il libro “La terra desolata” di Elliott, in cui si descrive la sepoltura dei morti, la partita a scacchi, un Paradiso terrestre, un eco dell’Ulisse di James Joyce per rappresentare la morte per annegamento, il sermone del fuoco di Buddha e la ricerca del Sacro Graal, ispirandosi al Parsifal di Richard Wagner. Si nota quindi il collezionismo di schiavi per l’aldilà ed il gioco di vittima e cacciatore. I riferimenti alla Columbus Parkway emergono nella telefonata dello Zodiac Killer alla polizia il 5 luglio 1969, per rivendicare gli omicidi di Blue Rock Springs (con vittima Darlene “Dee” Ferrin, dove “Dee” significa “D”, la lettera più odiata da Hodel, spiegando così l’operazione Freeway Phantom) e di Lake Herman Road, quest’ultimo il giorno prima della spedizione NASA Apollo 8. Nel maggio 1971 è stata uccisa Milena Sutter a Genova (città dov’era nato Cristoforo Colombo) dai membri del gruppo Zodiac, inoltre a New York esiste il Columbus Circle, dove c’è il monumento in onore di Cristoforo Colombo con tanto di caravelle e, soprattutto, ancore, segno che anticipava i futuri omicidi di Anchorage in Alaska.
