Edgar Ray Killen was one of the leaders of the KKK, who made headlines for orchestrating the massacre of 3 civilian activists in 1964, close to the ritual date of the summer solstice. Victims were James Chaney, Andrew Goodman, and Michael Schwerner. . Contributing to the Neshoba County massacre were corrupt members of law enforcement such as Cecil Price and others, including Billy Wayne Posey, who ran a Phillips 66 garage. A collaborare al massacro di Neshoba County sono stati membri corrotti delle forze dell’ordine come Cecil Price ed altri soggetti, fra cui spicca Billy Wayne Posey, che gestiva un garage della Phillips 66. La vicenda processuale è stata contorta e ha visto molte volte uscire Killen indenne, o comunque scagionato a breve su cauzioni, anche di grosso importo ($600000 , da capire chi ha versato quei soldi). D’altronde, il KKK può contare su diversi affiliati all’Ordine della Rosa Rossa, il che spiega le rose rosse sul memoriale delle vititme, a cui è stata dedicata anche la biblioteca di Rosenthal. A tentare di dare serietà all’indagine per ingraziarsi l’opinione pubblica ci hanno pensato il massone Lyndson B. Johnson e Robert F. Kennedy, in seguito il massone George Bush. Il luogo del delitto era la Rock Cut Road, con logo rosacrociano RC.
