Rodney Alcala was one of the most ruthless serial killers in history. Born in San Antonio, Texas, Alcala joins the army and is then discharged and he begins his criminal career. For years it has been speculated that Alcala's first victim was Tali Shapiro, who was miraculously saved in 1968 in Los Angeles thanks to a suspicious truck driver. Anziché tenere un basso profilo, Alcala era andato a farsi assumere dal regista Roman Polanski, uno che di stupri se ne intende, visto quanto riportato da Anjelica Huston e da Marianne Barnard. Alcala godeva della protezione del gruppo Zodiac dei Rockefeller e non a caso una delle sue vittime è stata posata dinanzi alla residenza dei Rockefeller. Certo è che non ha agito da solo nei casi da lui confessati, in quanto già a prima vista si capisce che i colleghi del gruppo Zodiac gli hanno dato un importante aiuto.
